Junior GolfMark

The Junior GolfMark is a national accreditation scheme administered by the EGU and ELGA.  Honiton Golf Club was awarded the Junior GolfMark in January 2004 because the Club meets the recommended standards set in three areas:-

  • Playing and Coaching
  • Club Environment
  • Duty of Care and Child Protection

Junior Membership

Members must be under the age of 18 on the 1st of January of the membership year.  Junior members are bound by the Club’s rules relating to subscriptions.

Prospective Junior members must apply for membership through the Club’s standard application process.  Membership will only be offered to children who have attended a course of golf lessons with the Club PGA Professional, and who, in the opinion of the Professional, have the potential to at least achieve a handicap of 28 (boys) or 36 (girls), or to children who already have a handicap at a recognised golf club.

It is a condition of membership that the Club, the Junior, and their Parent/Guardian sign a Partnership Agreement which sets out the responsibilities of each party in complying with Child Protection Policy, the Club Rules & Byelaws, and the Rules of Golf.

On joining the Club, the Junior Golfer (and/or their parents/guardians) will receive:-

  • A copy of the Child Protection Policy
  • A copy of the Partnership Agreement
  • Club Rules
  • Rules of Golf
  • Annual Club Fixture List
  • Junior Competitions List
